Boise Vacation

My good girlfriend, Ashley, and I had joint interest in going to Boise over the June 15th weekend. Her for her little sister's soccer tournament, and me to see my sister, Heather, one last time before she left for Officer Training Camp in Washington state for month. So we decided to join forces and make a party of it! And boy, did we party!?

We made the trip in 4 hours, with no stops. A miracle! The kids slept most of the way, and when they weren't sleeping, they were just hanging out being angels, so we weren't about to stop and disrupt their vibe. It was so nice! When we got to Boise we hit up a splash pad to get some energy out, then ate at our favorite Boise Mexican restaurant, Cafe Ole, then called it a day.

The next day we hit up a soccer game and the zoo. We had SO much fun at the zoo...

Ayden and Sully got to feed a giraffe, ride a carousel, and eat dippin' dots. Sullivan did NOT like the T-Rex, but Ayden couldn't get enough of the dinosaurs, which were strategically positioned all over the zoo. Since this trip Sullivan has actually sought out salad and lettuce to eat..."just like the giraffe!"

That night we went swimming in the hotel pool and had a group bath. We're gonna love these shots in about 15 years!?

After bath time and bed time, us girls cuddled up with giant cups of fro-yo and watched a pay-per-view movie together, The Host. It was so much fun!

On Friday we started our day at a trampoline park. The boys had a great time...as long as we stayed away from buttons!? It all started with the elevator buttons in the hotel elevator. The boys would fight over who got to push the button. Whoever got to push the button second would get mad that he didn't get to push the button first, and the one who pushed the button first would be mad that the other pushed the button after he did. So, no matter what we did, we'd end up with 2 screaming 3-year-olds by the end of the elevator ride. Such crazy little boys!? We ended up taking the stairs for the second half of our stay and that worked wonders. But there were buttons on the train ride below...oh the drama!?

On Friday night we took the kids to Wahooz for bowling, go-karting, and bumper-boating. It was Sullivan's first time bowling, and he loved it. Bowling brought out dance moves in Sullivan that I had never, ever seen before...it was fabulous entertainment!? We had so much fun playing with our boys. And our baby girl was as adorable as ever and was just happy to be there!

On Saturday morning we went to the duck pond to ride the paddle boats and hit up a park.

Then, after some lunch and naps, we went to the water park, Roaring Springs. It was a little crazy to have 4 small kids and only 3 adults at a water park, but somehow we managed. And we all had a really great time.

And that night we cuddled up with some more fro-yo and a movie. The movie was a bust due to the hotel's bad internet connection, but the frozen yogurt totally hit the spot. The drive home the next day was filled with a few more stops than on the way there, and quite a bit more crying from the babies, but we made it! It was such a great trip with the Chats! We'll be more than happy to vacation with you guys again anytime!
