On Friday we had our last breakfast with Heather and we let Sullivan play in the fountain one last time.
Then we said farewell to beautiful downtown Palm Springs. The downtown area of Palm Springs was absolutely amazing. Gorgeous palm trees, amazing flowers, cute shops, never ending sidewalks, and amazing restaurants. We ate like kings on Heather's per diem...sharing every meal, and never eating at the same place twice.
Then we said farewell to our lovely home for the week, Hotel Zoso. This hotel was amazing. Our room was huge and lovely and the hotel was gorgeous. The pool area was amazing and there was a bonfire pit that was lit every evening. We were truly living in the lap of luxury.
And then we said our sad goodbyes to Heather. Heather was so good to invite us to come along with her for the week. And she didn't even mind that Sullivan woke us up at the crack of dawn every morning...or that he acted like a crazy baboon in every restaurant we entered...or that he would scream and whine for any old reason. She still loved Sullivan, and was so nice to him, in spite of all his rough sides...and I really, really love her for it. She is the best aunt ever. And the best sister ever. We sure do love her!
The flight home was much less eventful than the flight there. No hiccups whatsoever this time (phew!). Sullivan slept for the entire first flight, and we made it through the second flight just fine with a spare seat, smarties, binkies, books, and a window seat. Sullivan really is such a good boy...I totally lucked out!
And now we are home...and it is always so good to come home...especially when you have someone so wonderful to come home to (aka Eric!). Who needs sun and palm trees and pools and 80 degree weather anyway? :)

Looks like you had an amazing vacation! How fun! I love the picture of Sullivan sunbathing. Too cute! And now I must add Palm Springs to my list of places to go. My list is getting too long for a school teacher's wife!
Looks like an amazing trip. You are too funny about how you are a mean mom for letting him cry. I do that all time when I am running and the kids are crying in the stoller. I can also totally relate to the flying mess, I flew with Annali 2-3 times a month and we had a few disasters but dum dums work great for the future except when she dropped one behind the seat and it landed in the ladies shoe! Not good. I love the look of sheer terror on the other passengers faces when you get on a plane with a child. Makes me laugh! You are a great mom and your little man is going to have so many great memories!
