Four of our couple friends got together and rented a cabin in Island Park, and it was awesome. We had dutch oven dinner on Friday night, compliments of Jared and Ashley and their family (thanks again!), and it was amazing! Then we enjoyed the hot tub a bit (yes, we had a hot tub in our cabin), and called it a night.
On Saturday morning we floated down the lazy Henry Fork river, and it was just delightful. Eric and the guys did a bit of fishing along the way, and I finished my book...way too soon...about 1/4 of the way into the float. The boys caught a few small fish...but no keepers. I don't imagine there's much to eat on 4 inch fish!? Do you!?

By Sunday morning Eric still hadn't caught a fish, so he woke up early to commune with nature, and God, and the fishies, while I slept peacefully in my cozy cabin bed. Apparently he caught one big, white fish, but they let it go. I was happy about this on two accounts...(1)that he finally caught a fish and could check it off his list, and (2)that I didn't have to witness him cooking a fish on a stick and eating it...or making me eat it. But apparently he didn't get quite enough fishing in, because we went back out to the river after checking out of cabin and spent an hour casting. A few people caught some baby fish, and Eric managed to snag a fish by the back fin...which we let go, of course. And even I tried my hand at a few casts, but seriously, I was horrible!? I always thought I was a decent fisherman, but I was sorely wrong! I'll leave the fishing to Eric...unless I'm in Alaska...

Ok..that's funny. We ended with with the exact same picture of shadows in the river!?! It was a great weekend...definitely. :)
sooo fun! I love Island Park and Mesa Falls. Looks like you had a blast! If you're ever having an itch to go see another play in Jackson...give me a call! I'd LOVE to go, and I wouldn't pretend to be happy...I REALLy would be happy. But Kudos to Eric for at least pretending (:
